I met Mark over the weekend and got one of the first of these front plate brackets. They are fantastic.
He has clearly put a lot of thought into designing and printing these. Not only are they functional, they also look good.
He helped me drill my Tesla mounting plate. He has since redesigned the drilling template/jig that he delivers with the kit. This makes drilling the mounting plate fool proof.
Once the mounting plate is drilled installing everything onto the car takes only a few minutes. If needed, removing the whole assembly also does not take very long. It is important to follow the included instructions to make sure you do things right.
He and I are currently working on possibly replacing the protective felt with another material that will be easier to cut.

As part of the SF Bay Area Model 3 community, Image it a point to support the local “tesla-prenueres” that dedicate their time to making Tesla Model 3 ownership better.
Mark’s OttoSteer License plate bracket is one of those products that I uniquely solved the problem I had with not wanting to stick the Tesla provided front license plate holder with double sided tape. I was looking for a license plate bracket that allows me to mount and dismount the front plate without harming the front bumper in anyway. This Ottosteer bracket does that..perfectly!
The kit comes with everything you need to install. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the exact drill bit needed to drill the mounting holes in your Tesla-provided plate holder was provided as well!
Installation took me 5 minutes. All the parts are CNC fabricated and feel really high quality. I didn’t have any issues with fitment. Goes to show how well engineered this product is!

I have been using this plate holder for the last 2 months, and so far it’s working out great! Well designed, low profile and really easy to put together. Mark has thought about how to make installation easy for everyone and it is great that we can use our original front plate but have the ability to remove it whenever we want. The way the holder is mounted, it is very secure, and there is no removing it without the provided allen wrench. Removal is quite easy and takes but a couple minutes. I have the original 3D printed version, which I am pretty happy with. These are now CNC machined and even more higher quality. I just bought the new magnetic version. Thanks Mark for continuing to push design and improve.

Can I add a plastic cover for this holder? Can the magnetic be also fixed?
