For those who don’t like how the license plate looks on your beautiful Model 3, or even the thought of having to drill or stick something to your front bumper, but also don’t want to get tickets for not having one on, well you are at the right spot. I have been searching and waiting for someone to make an item like this for a long time.
I have been pulled over by police twice, and was willing to pay the ticket. Not anymore, now I have the option of very easily and quickly putting my plate on, in literally a snap.
I was super impressed with this very high quality made product. Very durable and strong magnets. It also has security screws that you can put on and take off in seconds.
The kit comes with everything you need. I mean everything. The best part is that you don’t have to drill anything to your car. It was specifically engineered to use your stock license plate holder that Tesla gives you.
Talk about Custer service. Mark answered all of my questions I had before i purchased it, and any other ones I had after I received it.
You will see many other options out there, but nothing like this one. I can’t say enough about how happy I am with this. Thanks again Mark!

I was looking for a strong and easy to install/remove license plate bracket, mainly to have it on when parking in San Francisco or for long road trips. This bracket is also very good in case you have to get a fixit ticket signed off easily. Was so happy that ottosteer designed its newest bracket which consists of the magnets, because it works extremely well. I just returned home from LA to Pleasanton, and the bracket is very strong and quiet. I also had the retaining screws installed for added security. Since I am close to San Jose, I was able to meet mark in person and have him install it for me.

This is by far the best license plate holder currently on the market for the Tesla Model 3. Not only does it look great, but it’s also lightweight and strong. I loved the original plate bracket and was excited to learn of the new magnetic option. I was nervous about how it would hold up and if the plate would fly off if I hit a bump or something, but the magnets are super strong. It is recommended that you use the security pins included, but I was curious to see how it’d do without them. In addition to the simple installation, I just prefer how the plate looks as compared to the usual placement. Finally, the cost is SO much more reasonable than other no drill solutions you’ll find on the market. Needless to say, I’m a fan!

Received mine in just a couple of days (was glad it came quickly as I was nervous about being pulled over without a front plate.) I was surprised by how small the shipping envelope was, but everything was there. The instructions are via an online video which is great as you can pause and go back as needed. The included 3D printed guide is a fantastic use of 3D print technology as you need to put in 4 holes into the Tesla provide license bracket holder (no drilling into the car.) In all it was about a 10 minute job and the plate is certainly held on securely. Very happy with this and would recommend to others.

Ottosteer’s Ottostick magnetic front license plate holder for the Tesla Model 3 is perfection. With the plate detached the brackets are nearly invisible and yet the license plate can be firmly attached in less than a second.
Mark has clearly thought through the requirements for staying legal by driving and parking with both front and rear plates attached. A requirement in California, and strongly enforced in areas where cameras are used to verify FasTrak toll activity. He has produced a solution which is both easy to install, makes no alterations the car, and is simple to use.
Having owned many cars which would have looked better without a front license plate, this is the best solution I have seen. There is no attractive or aerodynamic way to add a 12″ x 6″ piece of metal to the front bumper of a beautifully designed car. The Tesla Model 3’s unique front end shows off the lack of grill openings with a flat seamless nose made possible by not having a front engine. To disrupt this design by attaching a plate would be incongruous.
I commute to, and park in San Francisco. The first week after getting my Tesla I received a parking ticket for not having a front plate attached. After only three days I had my first $121 ticket. Thankfully I received Mark’s magnetic bracket before getting a second $121 ticket. Now the city is satisfied that I am parked with a front plate attached, and I’m satisfied that I can simply pop it off anytime I’m driving in areas with fewer restrictions.

I’ve always preferred the placement of the OEM front plate bracket over other aftermarket options, just did not particularly like the permanent method of mounting it with double-sided tape. As a weekend detailer, I like having the option to remove my plates for a more thorough job once in awhile. The OttoStick magnetic holder offers the best of both worlds, OEM placement that is quickly removable – literally seconds or a couple minutes if you employ the security screws. The magnets are very strong and locate easily, the holder simply snaps into place.
Kit came with everything required to retrofit your existing OEM bracket to be magnetically removable – only thing required from your end is a drill, even the correct drill bit is included!

This is a really good solution. The magnets allow me to remove the front license plate when I’m around town where the cops don’t care, but allows me to quickly put it on before longer trips where I’d like to avoid the hassle of someone pulling me over.

Great choice to go with if you’d like to have the option of taking off the front license plate for whatever reason. This package has all the materials you’ll need to install the magnetic bracket on your car. Mark also gives you link to a video with easy to follow installation instructions. All you need is a drill and the front plate holder Tesla gave you and you should be good to go. Very happy with my purchase!

This product is the answer to front license plate requirement. HOWEVER!!!!! Drop the ditsy, cute installation video for some REAL instructions on how to mount this thing! She was confusing, and did NOT cover all the bases properly – I had to remove the grill attachment and reverse the magnets. Kind of a pain, but figured it out as I went. NOTE * We’re Tesla drivers and not a bunch of tricycle riders! Anyway, thanks….j

Front plates are required where I live but the law is not enforced so I was looking for something that will allow me to attach the plate when I travel but remove it when home. Found Ottosteer online when researching how to “fix” my front license plate issue when I received a citation parking at SFO’s Long Term Parking (made a mistake by backing into a corner spot, so in hindsight, it couldn’t have been more obvious if the citation department is looking for tickets to give out). Never heard of anyone getting a ticket for this, and definitely telling my friends to beware parking/driving in San Francisco and also Palo Alto based on some online feedback. Back to the product review, I found Mark and Ottosteer doing a online search and same as all previous reviewers, I was super impressed about convenience of driving up to Mark’s shop (I also live closeby) and Mark can also install it as part of the product purchase price, and saved on the shipping costs.
